The Norwegian Computing Center wishes to contribute in the following aspects of tropical forest monitoring:

• Automatic co-registration of repeated acquisitions of the same area. This is a prerequisite in automatic processing of time series of satellite images. NR has developed a prototype software for this purpose, MIR, and would like to verify its appropriateness for time series of images of tropical forest.
• Automatic change detection in cloud-contaminated optical satellite images

Image datasets are from Brazil, mainly Landsat 5 TM.
