NR is located on the 3rd floor (4. etasje) of Kristen Nygaards hus, Gaustadalleen 23a , together with the University of Oslo.

By metro

Take Line 4 or 5 Vestli - Ringen - Sognsvann, get off at Blindern or Forskningsparken stations.

Take Line 17, Rikshospitalet, from Sinsen or Grefsen stations, or Line 18, Rikshospitalet, from Stortorvet, and get off at tram stop Forskningsparken or Gaustadalleen.

By bus, east-west Ring 3

Take Line 23, Lysaker-Simensbråthen, and get off at bus stop Gaustad. If you come from east, you must cross the footbrigde over Ring 3, turn left and walk 50 m, and then turn right when you have reached Gaustadalleen. Walk approx. 200 m. NR and Kristen Nygaards hus are at your left handside.

By car

We do not recommend to use car when you are visiting NR, due to limited parking area. There are close by parking oppurtunities in Rikshospitalet and Forskningsparken parking houses.

From Ring 3, follow the sign to "Rikshospitalet" at Ullevål, turn left when you see the sign "Til forskningsinstituttene / NEMKO / Forskningsparken" and Gaustadalleen. Drive across the tram-tracks and approx. 300 m. NR is at your left handside.

From Majorstua, drive Ring 2, Kirkeveien, turn left to Blindernveien, turn right to Problemveien and drive through the University campus, turn left to Gaustadalleen. NR Kristen Nygaards hus are at your left handside.

From Oslo Airport Gardermoen

From Oslo Airport Gardermoen it is easiest to take Nor-Way Flybussekspressen F3 Gardermoen - Røa/Bekkestua. Get off at bus stop Gaustad Store Ringvei (approx. 45 min.). Cross the footbrigde over Ring 3, turn left and walk 50 m, and then turn right when you have reached Gaustadalleen. Walk approx. 200 m. NR and Kristen Nygaards hus are at your left handside.

Flytoget (express train) from Gardermoen: Get off at Oslo Sentralstasjon, then take the metro to NR. Flytoget stops sometimes at Nationaltheateret, where you also can change to the metro.

NSB (Norwegian State Railways, half the prize of Flytogets ticket): Lines R10, R11 og L12, get off at Oslo Sentralstasjon, then take the metro to NR (same 4-zone ticket is valid on the metro). The train sometimes stops at Nationaltheateret, you can also change to the metro here.
